Business Analyst (12208)
Description
Investec Sandton is looking for a Business Analyst for the One Place team within CXT. The role will involve project and business as usual deliverables, the resolution of user issues and requests, as well as maintenance and support of systems and related interfaces. The self-managed individual will have to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, subject matter experts, other project managers and team members, and will drive the delivery of solutions that meet or exceed expectations and are aligned with business purpose and strategies.
Experience, skills and capability
• Independent and original thinking will be required while solving complex issues, particularly as multiple systems, clients, and technologies are involved.
• High level business case and solution design (including the Functional requirements Specification) for business-driven requirements within given standards
• Deliver cost-effective, user friendly, innovative solutions (business process re-engineering, systems, and technology)
• Participate in the full SDLC depending on the scope of the initiative including post implementation activities. This includes the formulation of appropriate documents to present at the various forums and checkpoints. It also includes the ability to create clear and comprehensive acceptance criteria for development tasks.
• Ensure that processes, business rules (including decision point trees and rules definitions), data requirements (including Business Data Dictionary and reference List), project administration etc. are accurately and completely documented in line with the delivery strategy
• Ensure that the solutions meet the changing business requirements in terms of functionality, capacity and reliability
• Ensure that all projects / SMIs are delivered meeting business requirements, can be measured through a sound business case, and adhere to agreed application and integration architecture principles
• Feedback regularly to the team and stakeholders on progress and knowledge sharing.
• Ability to provide support for client incidents, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication. This includes troubleshooting issues, coordinating with relevant teams, and maintaining a high level of customer service to enhance client satisfaction.
In addition to the above:
• UAT of development tasks.
• Foster stakeholder communication.
• Drive Agile Scrum Methodology practices within the team.
• Facilitation of prioritization for projects/SMI's with stakeholders
• Backlog management and prioritisation.
• Governance adherence for projects/SMI's
• Facilitation of team ceremonies: stand ups, retrospectives, and demos for the development team.
• Reporting - Compile project dashboards, delivery stats
• Mange capacity and work allocation across the project teams in the mobile space
• Continuously evaluating operational processes for improvement with the team (stakeholder communication/ prioritisation/communication/team efficiencies)
• Mentorship - assist with upskilling Jnr team members.
• Coaching the Development Team in self-organization and cross-functionality
• Assist with monthly allocations for projects and team capacity planning.
• Understanding of application components and maintenance • Ensuring that goals, scope, and product domain are understood by everyone
Qualification and Experience
• 3+ years business analyst experience working in an IT software development team.
• Hands-on experience working on cloud solutions and SaaS will be an advantage.
• A proactive mindset focused on identifying and mitigating risks and resolving issues.
• High levels of ownership and ability to work with a certain amount of ambiguity.
• Ability to interact and contribute effectively to both functional and technical areas.
• Excellent leadership, communication, planning and facilitation skills.
• Critical thinking, solution driven and strong technical background.
• Experience with working in different teams
