Description

The CDM Platform team within SA Client Tech is seeking a Technical Business Analyst with strong technical aptitude to support the decomposition of a legacy Client Information Systems (CIS) application and its integration into Investec's Global Risk Entity Information System (REIS). This role is central to ensuring alignment across multiple CISs, with a focus on maintaining system mappings, data lineage, and traceability across related platforms. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering teams, functional BAs, and stakeholders to translate complex system interactions into clear, governed artefacts that support delivery and long-term sustainability. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically inclined BA to gain exposure to complex system landscapes, data flows, and enterprise architecture within a high-impact programme.

Key Responsibilities

•    Support the decomposition of CIS applications into the REIS platform.
•    Define and maintain system mappings across REIS and other CISs. 
•    Document and manage data lineage and traceability across integrated systems. 
•    Collaborate with engineers and functional BAs to clarify and refine technical requirements.
•    Produce high-quality technical documentation, including specifications and governance artefacts. 
•    Assist in identifying and resolving data gaps and misalignments across systems. 
•    Support testing, validation, and reconciliation of data during system transitions. 
•    Contribute to governance processes to ensure consistency and control across system changes.
•    Engage with stakeholders to ensure shared understanding of system interactions and impacts.
•    Continuously improve documentation, traceability, and BA practices within the team. 

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

•    Relevant degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar.
•    1–3 years' experience in a Business Analyst or Technical Analyst role.
•    Strong technical understanding of system integration, APIs, and data flows. 
•    Exposure to working across multiple systems or complex system landscapes.
•    Ability to document data mappings, lineage, and technical processes clearly. 
•    Familiarity with SQL, data analysis, or querying tools is advantageous. 
•    Understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and testing practices.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•    Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts.
•    High attention to detail with a focus on governance and traceability.
