Description

Investec Sandton is looking for an QA Automation Engineer who will be responsible for the testing and support of our Transaction monitoring applications. This will include functional, non-functional and regression testing; maintaining existing tests and writing new automated tests. The role entails working closely with the engineering agile teams and stakeholders to help build a world class test automation framework and tooling to ensure continuous delivery of high-quality code as well as be willing to write code and trouble shoot across the application. Other responsibilities will include maintenance, and technical support of our applications and batches. As a QA Engineer you would be required to be an active voice about test automation and continuous delivery, fostering the automation mindset across the team. 

Key Responsibilities

•    Write, design, and execute automated tests by creating scripts that run testing functions automatically.
•    Building Automated tests across the stack where applicable.
•    Maximize test coverage for the most critical features of the system.
•    Determine the priority for test scenarios and create execution plans to implement these scenarios.
•    Write documentation for automated processes including test plans, test procedures, and test cases, Build/Maintain test automation frameworks, log and document bugs in the tracking system, set up Continuous Integration.
•    Solid experience in establishing and maintaining controls for risk and quality.
•    Defect tracking and reporting tools, Risk Analysis and Static Techniques, Test Design Techniques.
•    Knowledge of DevOps principles will be needed to test support/maintenance implementations.
•    Accountable for the effective creation, measurement and control of the test strategy within the ASP Team.
•    Review business requirements, creation and execution of Functional, Integration, End-to-End, Regression, UAT & Automation (API).
•    Ownership and driving testing tasks from start to finish.
•    Coordinate and support UAT with business users.
•    Develop and maintain automated test scripts using xUnit, Nunit & RestSharp for Backend and MS Playwright with C# or Typescript for Frontend.
•    Create and execute test plans and test cases for software applications.
•    Collaborate with the development team to identify test scenarios and ensure that all critical business requirements are covered in the test plan.
•    Analyze test results and debug errors.
•    Report and track defects and work with the development team to resolve them. Note: required to own the defect until it has been resolved.
•    Work with the QA team to continuously improve the automation framework and testing process.
•    Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies such as stand-ups, planning sessions, and retrospectives.
•    Continuously learn new testing technologies and tools and share with the broader team.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

•    Minimum of 4 years testing experience.
•    Test Automation experience.
•    Strong stakeholder and interpersonal management skills.
•    Influential individual able to motivate themselves and their team to deliver exceptional service.
•    C# (preferable) / Java.
•    Microsoft SQL Server.
•    Azure DevOps (advantageous).
•    API Testing.
