Data Administrator (13735)

Description

Project Apollo is a large-scale, multi-geography HR transformation programme, including the migration of People data into Oracle Fusion HCM. A critical success factor for the programme is the quality, completeness, and readiness of legacy data across all regions.
This role is designed to provide dedicated, hands-on support to the Data Cleansing and Migration workstream. The focus is on high-volume, detail-oriented data review, cleansing, preparation, and validation activities across multiple People data domains (e.g. Person, Assignment, Leave, Qualifications, Compensation, etc.), working closely with Business Data Owners, Regional People Consultants, and Technical Data Leads. This is a Project-based role aligned to the data cleansing and migration timeline.

The purpose of the role is to support the successful delivery of Project Apollo's data cleansing and migration activities by:

  • Reviewing, validating, and preparing People data for migration
  • Assisting with data clean-up, standardisation, and gap resolution
  • Ensuring data is prepared accurately and consistently in line with agreed migration templates and timelines
  • This is a delivery-focused role requiring strong attention to detail, resilience in handling large data volumes, and the ability to work methodically within defined processes, with guidance available for complex issues.

Key Responsibilities

Data review & validation

  • Review existing People data sets (e.g. Person, Assignment, Address, Leave, Qualifications, Compensation, Banking, Work Patterns, Tax Residency, EITs) for completeness, accuracy, and validity
  • Validate data against agreed business rules, definitions, and migration requirements
  • Identify data quality issues such as missing values, duplicates, incorrect formats, or inconsistencies
  • Support regional and global data sign-off activities by preparing validation outputs and evidence.

Data cleansing & preparation

  • Clean and standardise data in line with defined formats and transformation rules
  • Update, correct, and enrich data where gaps are identified, working with Data Owners and Regional People Consultants
  • Populate and maintain data migration templates accurately for all geographies
  • Assist in reconciling source data to prepared migration datasets
  • Validate and standardise data prior to migration (including removal of duplicates and resolution of inconsistencies) to ensure clean data is loaded into the target environment
  • Perform data transformation activities to align legacy data to Oracle Fusion HCM target structures and agreed mapping rules.

Data extraction & template support

  • Support the extraction of data from source systems where required (with guidance from Data Leads)
  • Work with data held outside of core systems (e.g. spreadsheets, local trackers, manual records), ensuring it is captured and structured correctly for migration
  • Understand and correctly apply migration templates.

Oracle data load, reconciliation & reporting support

  • Support the loading of data using Oracle data load tools such as File-Based Data Import (FBDI) and HDL (HCM Data Loader), in line with agreed templates and sequencing
  • Perform pre- and post-migration validation checks to confirm migrated data matches the legacy source, including reconciliation of record counts and key balances where applicable
  • Work with technical team members to develop and refine reports/dashboards to support data validation and business reporting needs
  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), documenting data-related findings, defects, and recommended improvements.
  • Collaboration & stakeholder support
  • Work closely with:
       - Business and Technical Data Leads
       - Regional People Consultants
       - Business Data Owners
       - Programme and workstream team members
  • Track queries, assumptions, and open data issues, escalating where required
  • Provide regular progress updates and highlight risks or dependencies early.

Quality & governance

  • Adhere to Project Apollo data governance, confidentiality, and security standards
  • Maintain clear audit trails of changes made to data
  • Support mock migrations, testing cycles, and remediation activities as required.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Essential skills

  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to follow defined processes and templates consistently
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic data analysis skills (e.g. trend spotting, simple data profiling) and the ability to resolve data quality issues

Desirable / bonus skills

  • Exposure to HR / People data or employee master data
  • Familiarity with data migration or system implementation projects
  • Experience working with structured templates or data loads
  • Exposure to Oracle, ERP, or HR systems (advantageous but not required)
  • Experience with Oracle data load tools (e.g. FBDI and HDL) (advantageous but not required)
  • SQL/PL-SQL skills for data analysis, extraction, and validation (desirable).
