Borrowing Base Facilities (“BBF”) Operations Consultant (13846)
Description
The BBF consultant is responsible for ensuring a seamless experience for clients with a BBF throughout the lifecycle of the facility. Limited Local travelling required in the role (own car is a necessity).
Key Responsibilities
Onboarding & ongoing relationship management
• Implementation of new BBF clients and ongoing facility increases/decreases/restructures.
• Attend client visits with credit team or portfolio managers & business reviewers as required to support stakeholder activity
• Engage clients in person on BBF product, requirements, and differences/benefits to similar products in the market
• Assisting with maintaining debtor and stock categorisation
BBF Limit calculations
• Manual limit calculations and migration of client asset data into systems
• Determine / review calculation of non-standard BBFs.
• Maintaining debtor categorisation
• Ensure continuity of calculation process per client
Monitoring and credit functions
• Capturing and maintaining monitoring dashboards
• Reconciliation of debtors movement and investigating recon breaks
• Maintain and monitor BBF trends and triggers, including covenant measurements and investigating deteriorations or breaches
• Having an inquiring mind to identify and unpack trends and triggers revealed in dashboards
• Engage with all relevant stakeholders on any issues or opportunities as they are identified through monitoring activities e.g. Sales, Credit and Recoveries teams
• Presenting in credit forums
• Assist in recovery of distressed clients
Product Operations
• Vetting client accounts to measure percentage debtor receipts paid into BBF.
• Record-keeping of client information and calculation traceability
• Ensure that all aspects related to clients are managed accurately and timeously (e.g. fees being raised).
• Assisting clients and stakeholders with operational queries
Ad-hoc
• Design / maintain processes and checklists
• Design / maintain training material
• Involvement in ongoing projects as a tester
• Process improvement and deployment
• Training stakeholders and clients on product mechanics
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
• BCom (Finance or Accounting focused) or similar with minimum 3 years working experience, ideally in an operational/technical role for a lending function in a large bank or financier.
• Understanding of working capital structures and products
• Understanding of varied types of debt and associated repayment profiles
• Strong analytical skills – incl. familiarity of Microsoft Office suite esp. Excel at an advanced level (e.g. lookups, pivot tables, advanced formulae etc.)
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritise multiple tasks
• Team Player/Strong people skills (interacting with colleagues and clients)
• Very accurate, sense of urgency and strong attention to detail
• Strong banking fundamentals knowledge incl. interpretation of legal agreements and application thereof
• Strong ability to learn concepts, apply, and adapt appropriately
• Apply learnings continuously in a cradle-to-grave model
