Key tasks include managing the expectations and outcomes of marketing activities to achieve business objectives whilst effectively managing budgets to achieve return on investment.

Key Responsibilities

Event | Project management
•    Co-ordinate all marketing events in the JHB region for private client teams that are aligned to the Investec brand
•    Conceptualize fresh and distinctive ideas for events and general marketing activations
•    Integral part of the marketing budget and strategy
•    Together with the business, proactively seek out new experiential opportunities to entrench existing clients and possibly acquire new ones
•    Project manage activations from conception to completion

Reporting and Budget Control
•    Compile operations report for every activation on initiation of the project which must be kept updated throughout the planning process
•    Successful delivery within the specified agreed-upon budget
•    Responsible for submission of invoices to finance for payment
•    Finalization of budget doc reflecting final spend per line item

Client service (internal & external)
•    Proactive and accessible
•    Deliver accurately and timeously through constant and effective communication to stakeholders and suppliers, including all relevant documentation
•    Act in the best interest of the group – striving to improve cost efficiency.
•    Meet strict deadlines

Brand Custodian
•    Ensure the Investec brand is promoted consistently by following the correct brand procedures and policies by adhering to CI and brand compliance

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

•    A minimum of 7-10 years' experience in organising and managing corporate events.
•    A Marketing or related degree
•    A person of action in the right spirit of getting things done, but not at the cost of relationships 
•    Able to thrive in an environment that constantly questions and challenges
•    As tough as you are kind
•    Is not easily flustered by surprises and changing course mid-project
•    Seeks to solve constructively first before dwelling on the negative aspects of a challenge
•    Accurate, systematic, and methodical.
•    Able to organize and prioritize tasks and projects.
•    Attention to detail
•    Proficiency in using AI-enabled productivity tools, such as Copilot, to improve efficiency, generate insight and support decision-making. Applies critical thinking and sound judgement when interpreting outputs, remains accountable for the quality and accuracy of their work.

•    Primary: National Head of Brand Experience in W&I and Regional Heads of Banking and Wealth
•    Secondary: W&I Marketing Team, Compliance team, Legal, Finance
