Investec Sandton is looking for a Data Reporting Analyst who will be responsible for understanding and fulfilling the business data needs of Investec Client Operations and Financial Crime Compliance. This role requires a working knowledge of Data Reporting, Analytics, and with an understanding of IT. Successful candidates will work closely with the technical teams including Data Engineers, Azure DevOps team, Database Admins, and Infrastructure; as well as the business teams including Operations and Compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Script, build and maintain client operations and financial crime in a data environment
• Report and dashboard design
• Interpret data, analyse data using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports and insights to business
• Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets with the subsequent ability to synthesize the data into information consumable by business decision-makers
• Build strong relationships with other teams within the bank to ensure leverage of capabilities
• Work closely with management to prioritise business and information needs

Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:

• Postgraduate degree preferably in Information Management, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science or similar
• 1-3 years' experience in an analytical / data environment 

Experience in the following technologies is key to this role:

• Visualize data in Power BI
• Transact SQL
• Microsoft Excel
• Database knowledge 

Advantageous technical skills and knowledge:

• Python or R Scripting
• Reporting packages (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS)
• Microsoft Azure Cloud Infrastructure
• Client Information Management, AML, KYC and Financial Crime knowledge
