Digital Marketing and Communications Specialist-Clarity (12028)

Background

Clarity, by Investec is a self-directed trade, save and invest platform (for mobile and desktop) for South Africans over the age of 18. Originally designed and developed by Investec Bank, Clarity is the result of the desire to create a secure, robust and straight-forward alternative for investors who choose to invest independently in local and global markets. The goal was not to provide advice or managed expertise – but rather to let beginner or advanced investors take control of their own investment journeys and invest when, how, where and how much they want. All while having the peace of mind that comes with banking compliance and regulatory backing. Clarity is an independent business unit part of Investec.

Role Description:

We are seeking a creative and driven Marketing and Communications Specialist with a robust skill set in design and holistic digital marketing. The ideal candidate will have experience in brand development, content creation, and a solid understanding of marketing analytics. Proficiency in design software, particularly Adobe Creative Suite, is essential. Experience with AI integration in marketing models, performance marketing management, and a background in data-driven marketing are advantageous. An interest or experience in fintech or finance will also be beneficial for this role

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation and Management: Develop high-quality visual and written content for various platforms, including social media, websites, blogs, and marketing materials. Manage content calendars and ensure timely delivery of content.
  • Design Skills: Utilize Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) to create compelling graphics, layouts, and promotional materials that reflect the brand's identity.
  • Brand Development: Assist in the development and maintenance of brand guidelines, ensuring consistency in messaging and visual identity across all channels.
  • Social Media Management: Oversee and manage social media accounts, creating engaging content and monitoring audience engagement. Implement social listening strategies to gather insights and adapt marketing strategies accordingly.
  • Performance Marketing Management: Develop, execute, and optimise performance marketing campaigns across various channels (e.g., PPC, email marketing, social media advertising) to drive lead generation and improve ROI.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, product development, and creative, to brainstorm and execute content strategies that engage and inform our target audience.
  • Market Research and Analysis: Conduct market research to identify trends, consumer insights, and competitive analysis to inform marketing strategies.
  • Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyse campaign performance metrics, leveraging marketing analytics and data-driven insights to optimise future initiatives.
  • AI Integration: Explore and implement AI-driven marketing models to enhance targeting and engagement strategies.
  • Feedback Incorporation: Actively seek and incorporate feedback from team members and stakeholders to improve content quality and effectiveness.
  • Web Build and Edits: Collaborate with the creative and development teams to create and update web blog pages, ensuring a seamless user experience and adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Social Post Builds and Publishing: Create engaging social media posts and schedule their publication across various platforms, including Facebook, X, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Email Build/Testing/Sending: Develop visually appealing and effective email campaigns, including relevant marketing and compliance approvals, conduct thorough testing, and manage a seamless distribution process.
  • Direct Mail Management: Oversee the production and distribution of direct mail materials, ensuring timely delivery and accuracy.
  • Internal Communications: Create and distribute internal communications emails to keep employees informed and engaged.
  • Campaign Tracking and Tagging: Implement tracking mechanisms and tags to accurately measure the success of marketing campaigns and report on them.
  • Workflow Monitoring: Ensure efficient workflow management, tracking project progress and identifying potential bottlenecks or delays.
  • Campaign Testing: Conduct A/B testing and other experiments to optimise campaign performance and conversion rates.
  • Approvals: Coordinate the approval process for creative assets, ensuring compliance with brand guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Asset Storage: Organise and maintain a centralised repository for all marketing assets, making them easily accessible to the team.
  • Regulatory Governance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards in all marketing activities.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, Graphic Design, Communications, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a marketing role, with a focus on at least 10 of the above-mentioned responsibilities. Experience in fintech or finance sectors is a plus.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Extensive experince and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress or HubSpot, required.
    • Knowledge of SEO best practices and social media management tools, essential.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with experience in marketing analytics or data-driven marketing.
  • Creative Skills: Exceptional creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to generate innovative ideas and concepts.

  • Self-Starter and Self-Management: Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively, demonstrating initiative and resourcefulness.
  • People and Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas clearly and build relationships with team members and stakeholders.
