Description

Harness the power of data through implementing and enhancing technical data solutions in line with the overall data strategy and as part of an integrated business and technical data capability within the Private Banking South Africa business unit. Partner and collaborate with the South Africa Data Team as well as with other stakeholders to ensure the appropriate standardisation of data collection, storage, transformation, distribution and usage is in place and aligns to the data governance frameworks, policies and principles to create business value. Responsible for creating internal capability, owning and defining reusable patterns across as well as delivery of data workstreams in projects and product teams. Provide insights and strategic recommendations to the various teams and stakeholders. Be passionate about data and have a deep understanding across the full data lifecycle. Responsible for the technical data team and for scaling this team in line with business needs. Ensure data is translated into meaningful insights with the aim to help inform the business and product strategy and other decisions required to support profitable growth and sustainability.

Experience, skill and capability

· Co-create the organizational data strategy and collaborate with stakeholders across each division and or jurisdiction.
· Align with data governance teams to help drive standards for data quality, the flow of data and security thereof.
· Convert business requirements into technical requirements.
· Align with enterprise / organizational strategy and related business architecture.
· Design blueprint of the data framework and ensure data is easily accessible, secure and aligns with the business strategy.
· Co-ordinating and collaborating with cross functional teams, stakeholders and third parties.
· Managing end-to-end data architectures from selecting the platform and designing the end-to-end technical solution.
· Executing the hands-on implementation of proposed solutions and providing technical guidance to teams during the solutions development and deployment phases.
· Technical leadership – provide the necessary guidance and drive the technical development of the team.
· People leadership – inspiring and guiding members of the team to achieve their full potential while fostering a collaborative, supportive and high-performance environment
· Contribute to the broader Cloud & Engineering practice from a data perspective, beyond project commitments through knowledge sharing and documenting best practices.
· As a member of the Private Bank Technology Manco, contribute to the Private Bank Technology goals and objective

 Knowledge and experience

· Azure Data fundamentals & applications (Azure DevOps, Github or similar source control and CI/CD platforms
· C#, Python and TSQL
· Experience in Platform as a Service, Infrastructure as code, scripting and automation in Azure
· An understanding of Agile methodologies
· Knowledge of systems development, project management approaches
· Proficiency in modeling and design
· Understanding predictive modelling, NLP and ML
· Ability to implement common data management and reporting technologies and knowledge of databases, data virtualisation etc.
· Leadership and mentorship skills
· Creating a culture of collaboration, teamwork, autonomy and inclusion
· Strong written and verbal communications skills and the ability to present to groups of varied skill levels
· Experience in the IT industry with experience in delivering data solutions
