Head of Risk & Operations (PTA) (11612)
Description
Coordinated leadership of Risk and Ops value chain in the region, to ensure effective partnership, collaboration, and integration between risk and operations to drive an efficient, scalable, leveraged, and sustainable business
Operations and Risk:
- Leading and managing Risk and operations in the region, in close partnership with regional pillar heads
- Co-ordinate people leadership in partnership with regional and national risk pillar heads
- Holding the operational and risk value chain in the region to ensure end-to-end coordination of the operationalization of national functional risk strategies across all risk disciplines
- Ensuring operational risk and compliance within the region, including consistency and exceptions processes
- Supporting national risk pillars in achieving process enhancement, national alignment, and leverage
- Working closely with technology teams
- Managing stakeholder relationships
- Representing the region in various national operation and risk forums
Change and Value Chain Integration:
- Leading change initiatives, including origination, prioritization, development, and management
- Managing incident response within the region
- Overseeing facilities management (Pretoria)
- May hold certain national portfolios for the benefit of the broader operations community
Audit:
- Ensuring thorough audit processes are in place to maintain high standards of operational and risk management
Experience, skills and capability
- Com Degree, LLB or equivalent qualification preferred
- 5 - 10 years' relevant experience
- Demonstrated strong leadership acumen and gravitas, with the ability to inspire and gain buy-in from diverse teams
- Proven track record as a team player who can lead and collaborate effectively
- Solid understanding of the business processes to facilitate transactions, from deal origination to implementation, across different product offerings
- Investec Private Bank experience is advantageous
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Understand and able to articulate the Investec operations and change landscape
