Description

The primary function of this role is to co-design and implement the PB Ops strategy (which supports the Private Banking strategy) as it relates to vehicle and asset finance (installment sales) as well as to lead this function for Private Bank Operations. This includes, but is not limited to, leading the review and where applicable, redesign of the relevant operational processes.

The Installment Sales team operates in a fast paced, pressurized environment where client experience is paramount. The role entails building and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Experience, skills and capability

• Co-design and implement the PB Ops strategy (which supports the Private Banking strategy) as it relates to vehicle and asset finance (installment sales) operations.
•  Lead the review and where applicable, redesign of the relevant operational processes to ensure excellent client service and to manage the risk associated with vehicle and asset finance.
• Pursue projects and other work (both operational and technological) to meaningfully improve the operational landscape.
• Ensure the smooth running of vehicle and asset finance (installment sales) operations.
• Provide day-to-day leadership to the team leader of the team and overall function, to build and enhance a high performing team with a strong Investec culture and client focus.
• Develop, implement and manage operational systems, processes and policies which are consistent with the innovative nature of banking services.
• Build strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders across Investec.
• Build positive relationships with dealerships, dealer groups and other(s) role players in the vehicle industry.
• Manage vendor relationships.
• Ensure there is a culture of continuous improvement. Collaborate to identify opportunities to improve, with a focus on opportunities to automate mundane, repetitive processes.
• Work with the team leader to design and implement the metrics to measure and review the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of service delivery.
• Analyse and interpret trends and volumes to ensure optimized capacity for effective and dynamic service delivery
• Provide regular dashboards on the operational aspects of vehicle and asset finance, the market coverage and the performance of the team.
• Identify, resolve and / or escalate system issues that affect client experience or introduce risk.

Qualifications

• Financial and / or other related degree
• Sound understanding of vehicle and asset finance operations
• Knowledge of Private Bank products, processes and systems, will be advantageous
• 4 - 6 years of vehicle and asset finance experience (preferred)
• Leadership experience will be advantageous
